Final word on parallel cites in the SJC
Following up on my entry yesterday on whether parallel cites are still needed in the Maine SJC, Matt Pollack, SJC Executive Clerk, once again provides with the definitive answer.
First of all, the blue book (latest 18th ed) apparently doesn’t say only the official cite is needed.
Second, the Uniform Maine Citations, which says include parallel citations, is not officially adopted by the SJC; however, there is an official 1996 administrative order that says the same thing, i.e. include the parallel cites:

The 1996 order remains the last word.
So, yes indeed, we need to put in those parallel cites.
